written for: Fall 2004 Flair, an advertising supplement to The News & Record, the largest daily newspaper in Triad region, North Carolina

Featuring the veggie, fruit, and herb-centered menu of Greensboro restaurant Hogan’s Groovy Gourmet, this article presents a line up of colorful of delicious and portable dishes suitable for serving up picnic style at sporting events, festivals, or other outdoor gatherings.  Keeping with my theme of sharing fresh and healthy food ideas, this article offers up savory selections such as black bean hummus, pimento cheese spread, goat cheese torta, and curry rice salad as a an alternative to the spiritless ennui of hot dogs, hamburgers, or buckets of fried chicken normally dished out at such events.
