The Community Farm was located on Phillips Avenue, a low economic area just outside of downtown Greensboro. The urban site provided project exposure for residents in the immediate community.

Community garden participants chose their own 20 ft by 20 ft plots, as well as the cultivars and plot designs. The diversity in design and produce grown provided an opportunity for sharing and learning amongst participants.

Community garden participants present their fresh produce together with traditional Montagnard hand woven bags and cloth for sale at the City Center farmers market.

Participants young...

...and old came together most evenings to water and harvest their produce. Harvests on Wednesdays were prepared to sell at the city market the next day. Community garden maintenance and harvest days provided participants with the opportunity to socialize.
